COVID-19 Health & Safety Protocols

Our highest priority is keeping our community safe

• The health and safety of our community will always be embraced within our top priority. The most important aspect of our child-centered approach is making sure your child is always safe, secure, and supported. As always, we are working diligently to follow and exceed the stringent hygiene guidelines set by the Department of Education, Department of Health, Provincial and Local health officials.

Enhanced Entrance Protocols:

  • Hand sanitizing stations are available for everyone entering the building to sanitize their hands.
  • Screenings will take place of staff and child/parent at the Health Check Station. Anyone showing signs of illness will not be permitted to enter. This includes a temperature of 38degrees Celsius or higher.
  • Digital Daily Screening form to speed up the check-in process and the drop off lines.
  • Stay home if sick. If children or staff show signs of illness, we will ask the ill person to stay home until they’ve been symptom-free without medication for at least 48-72 hours.
  • When to Stay Home – While in the Moderate or low levels the classroom shut down period changes. All close contacts will need to quarantine for 10 days. They can cut their quarantine period to 7 days if they test between day 5-7 and have a negative result. Any staff member that has been fully vaccinated or has recovered from COVID-19 in the last 3 months does not need to quarantine. This also includes any students that have had COVID-19 in the last 90 days.
  • If your child becomes sick during the day, he/she will be brought to a space away from all other children, and parents will be expected to pick up their child as soon as possible. Please perform an antigen test to know results right away.

School Closing Guidelines:

  • Any parent, student, or staff member who tests positive for COVID-19 must notify the school immediately, consult their physician, and begin a quarantine period. The parent, student, or staff member cannot return to the school until they complete the quarantine and/or they present a negative test result and a doctor’s note clearing them to return to school.
  • In any case that the classroom is mandated to close will carry out online / virtual learning program with their regular teachers to help minimize disruption. Protocols for Inside the Building:
  • As of August 22, 2022, Young Tycoons Academy will be wearing mask/face covering for students and staff.
  • Handwashing is required of all staff members upon arriving at school.

Social Distancing Strategies:

  • Gloves will be worn while handling food, changing diapers or during any contact with a bodily fluid.

Cleaning and Sanitizing Procedures:

  • Routinely clean, disinfect, and sanitize. Each school has a schedule for cleaning and disinfecting all common areas and classrooms throughout the day.
  • Sanitizing schedules are followed for all classrooms. Sanitation will be carried out daily to clean the playgrounds, classrooms, and hallways when the children are not present. The solution contains no harmful chemicals and has proven effectiveness against viruses and bacteria.

Food Preparation and Meal Services:

  • Handwashing is required of staff prior to applying gloves to prepare food and after helping children to eat.
